102th Tour de France

 

What is Tour de France??
Tour de France is the top of biking race in the world. It’s started from 1903 and is held once a year. It does usually start from early July  to the end of July. It lasts 23 days and includes 21 stage, 2 break times and more than 3000 km. Needless to stay, it's always hard and crazy. The route every year is different; every stage’s start point usually chosen to be a town in France. The last stage always at Paris Arc de Triomphe.

 

Classifications of awards

1.          General classification (GC)

GC is a special award, it's the most popular awards, all the team want to win it. If someone wins the GC, it means they won the Tour de France. Only the person who is the minimal total time spent can get GC, and he can get the special yellow jersey.  

2.          Mountains classification

If someone get the most points on the mountain, they can get a jersey with red dots, and we call he the king of the mountains.

3.          Points classification
If someone get the most point on level ground, that can get the green jersey.

4.          Young rider classification

This award is only for the best yang cyclist.

 

The 102th Tour de France – Summary

This started on 7/4 from the Netherlands Utrecht to the end at Paris Arc de Triomphe. This year which have 21 stage and 3360 km. The first stage started from Utrecht, Netherlands. This year has 7 level ground stages, 5 hilly stages, 7 mountain stages, 1 individual time trial and 1 team time trial.

 

Stage 3 had a terrible accident, it more than 20 people were involved in accident, and include the temporary leader of GC. As a result, the race was the first time temporary stopped. The athcele, he hart his body and had to drop out of the race.

 

Stage 10 at Col de la Pierre St Martin, has the first Hors Categorie in the race, which will be a new General classification and Mountains classification. Team Sky’s cyclist Chris Froome got rid of second and got more than three minutes parsec, he is so crazy and power, no one could caught him.

 

Stage 19, at long last, the last year champion Nibali got the stage win, but this year is obviously not his year.

 

Stage 21, André Greipel got the stage win. This year he got the fourth stage win, but Chris Froome won the Tour de France and king of mountains tittle. For Peter Sagan, this is the fourth consecutive year to get the point classification, but he always get the second place at stage.

 

Why did I choose and recommend the Tour de France?

I chose this, because, the routes always have beautiful scenery. When I follow the race, I just feel like to traveling to France. Certainly, cycling is my favorite exercise, and then the races are wonderful, amazing and exciting. I can see the teamwork, tactics, and individual insisted. It’s very interesting.
